Rest In Me Child… He Blesses Us in the Storm

Heartache is no stranger. Tears find me on many days. But Jesus. Never are you blessed like when He blesses you just to show you how much He loves you. How He’s there through ever tear. Every heartache.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me

2 Corinthians 12:9

So the power of Christ may rest upon me… Such a beautiful promise.

The storm rages on, friends. BUT Jesus shows us His tender mercy through the body. We have been blessed over and over this week.

Friends that help when my brain has no power to think of what to ask for are an extreme blessing to me. You see, my heart aches for those that have so much less than we do. Need is a hard thing for me to feel. If I can manage at all, even when I’m falling apart, it is difficult to say we have a need.  Yet, when a friend blesses me I can’t tell you what it does for my heart. To know someone has done something for my family just to show us love… I had to stop typing because the emotion makes my eyes leak. It’s a big ol’ squishy hug from Jesus. It renews strength.

Tuesday a dear friend came over and blessed me with her time and effort. She made two meals for my freezer, brought us some lovely staples for the pantry, chocolate for my closet,  and a big box of handmade soap pouches for put homeless ministry project!  And this beauty. Isn’t it pretty?

Hugs from Jesus

He blesses our efforts to serve

We have organized a drive for Christmas for the homeless in our area. We have been serving breakfast on the streets once a week and have been blessed beyond measure to get to know our friends living in poverty. The drive has been very succesful and people have been amazing! We even received a $100 gift which produced snack packs for all backpack and a couple of extra coffee airpots!

We also received a huge 5 gallon Thermos for coffee! Hot drinks are a huge blessing to our friends in the cold! Praise and honor and glory to the King!

Look at this beauty!

Our local Classical Conversations blessed our efforts greatly! The classes packaged and organized all of the items to be given away as their service project! They did an amazing job!  They even made hand written notes and pictures of encouragement for every backpack! HUGE blessing! To top that off they also did a sock and t-shirt drive and a pizza fundraiser! The generosity of these families really showed! We got enough socks and t-shirts to full every bag with more than one! And the pizza fundraiser brought in $270! Enough to get blankets, every items we didn’t have enough for all backpacks, and food for the event!

Praise you merciful Lord!

I pray Proverbs 19:17 over every single person that helped!

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.

Dear Jesus, please bless them in their love!

Now child let me bless you again

I walked away that day feeling so blessed. So happy to see hearts moved to compassion for the oppressed. As we got to AWANA that night two dear friends called the Farrier and me to their car. They had something for us.

They explained that they have seen the heartache over last while and pray for us often. They wanted to do something to bless us. Just show us love.

As they opened up the back of the car to show us the filled vehicle full of Thanksgiving foods and many beautifully wrapped Christmas presents I wish I could explain how loved I felt. To know that someone spent so much time and love just to bless our hearts. I have no words.

Thank You Jesus for showing us love and tender mercies. My heart has been so tired. So bruised. You show me love when I don’t deserve it. You are good. You are merciful. Thank you Jesus.

In His Tender Mercies,
